About
Dan Leonard’s clients benefit from decades of experience, deep industry knowledge, and a level of expertise that is increasingly rare in today’s market. Serving Southwest Michigan, Dan is known for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering commitment to helping clients make informed, confident real estate decisions.
Dan’s passion for real estate began in 1980. After proudly serving four years in the United States Marine Corps, he attended Ferris State University, graduating in 1984 with dual degrees in Real Estate and Insurance. His early career included earning a General Contractor’s License and working in the construction industry, giving him valuable hands-on insight into building quality, structure, and value.
In 1988, Dan was hired as a Property Appraiser for Van Buren County, where he achieved a Level II Assessor Certification and played a role in the development and training of local assessors. He obtained his real estate license in 1991 and went on to work with nationally recognized real estate firms, while also managing a manufactured housing and real estate development company.
Committed to continuous education and excellence, Dan earned both his Broker’s License and State Certified Residential Appraiser License. In 2004, he joined Kalvan Realty, where he quickly found a professional home and later became a part owner of the brokerage.
Dan’s clients consistently come to him through referrals from friends, family, and past clients who trust his judgment, experience, and straightforward approach. Whether buying, selling, or seeking reliable real estate insight, clients value Dan’s dedication, transparency, and ability to guide them through even the most complex transactions with confidence.
